Hip Hop for the Homeless Tour Brings Six shows of Charitable Events to Connecticut
This holiday season a large faction of the Connecticut music scene will come together for a very special cause. The Hip Hop for the Homeless Tour brings together over 40 local Hip Hop artists and DJs for 6 shows of live music events. These events will raise money to help combat homelessness and hunger in Connecticut.
The first two weekends in December, Joey Batts and his friends will be VERY busy. Beginning December 3rd, in Bridgeport, the Hip Hop for the Homeless tour begins, with New London and Hartford rounding out the weekend, New Haven, New Britain and Middletown finish off the tour on December 10th, 11th & 12th respectively. Venues and towns include The Copper Fox Saloon, Oasis Pub, Eight Sixty Skate shop, Café Nine, The Frosty Mug and MAC650ng together from every corner of Connecticut and include multiple winners and finalists from the Connecticut Music Awards. Ceschi Ramos (2x Winner for Best HipHop), Joey Batts & Them (3x Finalists for Best Hip Hop), Chumzilla (3x Finalist and 2014 Winner for Best DJ) and Jose Oyola (2x Finalists for Best Alternative).
Hip Hop for the Homeless was created by Connecticut music veteran Joey Batts. By night, Batts and his group perform a unique and popular blend of alternative Hip Hop. By day, Batts is a 10th grade teacher in the Hartford public school system. The chance for Batts to combine his passion for music, with his desire to reach out to an entire demographic in need of support was too much to pass up. Batts plans to make the Hip Hop for the Homeless Tour an annual event to take place every December.
