Treadwell was founded by C.J. DiNatale and Russ Frost in the basement of Russ’s college house on Treadwell St. in CT. The two met in 2011 while majoring in music at Southern Connecticut State University, and started jamming together shortly after. Influenced by bands like Radiohead, Explosions in the Sky, Modest Mouse and the like, Russ’s unique style of melodic guitar work flowed elegantly with C.J.’s piano arrangements and they realized they were creating something significant.
It was just the two of them writing together for a while until they brought in C.J.’s cousin, Dan Fusco, on drums. It wasn’t until then that they were really able to hone in on their sound and perfect their style.
Treadwell consisted of guitar, keys, drums and vocals for about a year and a half, playing local gigs with keyboard-bass, until they recruited bassist Joey Quagliaroli in 2014.
Now armed with a brand new album and a growing fan base, the rest of Treadwell’s story is yet to be written.
