The late winter is finally here and what better way to warm our collective soul than to dance and dream and howl together, to remember the days in caves, the fire light, and the pastoral night? Join us loves at this season's Poetry Brothel Lupercalia! On February 14th, the whores of The Poetry Brothel will celebrate the she-wolf inside each of us by howling late into the night in a secret language that could only be pure poetry. Lupercalia is a pre-Roman festival devoted to the Wolf, celebrating fertility, and is considered by many scholars to be the most ancient precursor to today's Valentine's Day. The Madame invites you to cerebrate this history in all its ancient decadence. Wear your most primeval furs and paint your lips with blood, loves. The night's festivities will include live music by the Hot Club of Flatbush, burlesque by the lovely Foxx Von Tempt and Lilin Lace, and, of course, public and private readings by your darling poetry whores.
