Before he played drums in Ovlov or Speedy Ortiz, Michael Falcone began recording demo tapes using a Tascam 4-Track Portastudio, heavily inspired by the lofi muddiness of proto-grunge bands like Sebadoh and Guided By Voices. Between 2006 and 2014, Falcone recorded a dozen cassettes and CDRs under names like Lip Keebler and Dead Wives, which was also the name of the 3-piece band who would perform these songs live. Two notable releases during this period were Buzzy Fuzzy (Obscure Me, 2014) - a concept release about a plague of bees signaling the apocalypse - and Scuz Bucket (self-released, 2011) their only EP as a 3-piece with Falcone on vocals and guitar, Jumanji Wahlberg on bass, and Mike Henss on drums. Inspired to become more Satanic, they were rechristened as Hellrazor in April 2015.
