Explore Wintergreen Brook, which runs directly by Common Ground’s site and on into the West River! Join neighbors and Common Ground students as we explore the potential route of a new walking trail along New Haven’s Wintergreen Brook. We’ll follow Wintergreen from the West Rock Nature Center, past Common Ground, and through the Southern Connecticut State University campus. Along the walk, expect to encounter thorny plants, illegally dumped garbage (which we will clean up — we will provide garbage bags), and steep slopes.
Learn about work by Common Ground’s West River Stewards to improve water quality, public access, and habitat along the Brook and across the West River Watershed. Co-organized by the West River Watershed Coalition, the Bioregional Group, and Common Ground. This walk is appropriate for young people & adults ages 13 and up. Meet at Common Ground’s parking lot, and bring snacks and water.
