Musical Intervention presents its premiere showcase “Keys to a Dream” at its new headquarters located at 23 Temple Street in downtown New Haven on Saturday, April 30, 2016 at 6:00pm. A suggested donation of $10 will be taken at the door. Come join us as we celebrate the spring season with a unique display of local art and musical performances.
This multi-media showcase features (U-N-I) Uniting the Universities & Cave Council’s ‘Keys To A Dream’: Opening Doors with Art, Photography and Music. The showcase has been organized with volunteer students and faculty from Southern Connecticut State University, Gateway Community College and Quinnipiac University. The project is also supported in part by Project Storefronts in partnership with the city of New Haven Arts, Tourism, and Culture department.
Treat yourself to a night filled with creativity and inspiration. On display will be original mixed medium art created by local street artist Ghosta Knowstra, who specializes in design, wall murals and abstract paintings. Knowstra considers himself a modern day renaissance man. Also on display will be a fine art film photography collection presented by Lindon Cummings, age 20, a Gateway Community College student from Palm Beach, Florida. He has compiled a dozen 35mm black and white photographs taken in the surrounding New Haven area. Musical entertainment throughout the evening will be by an array of local musicians, including founder and CEO of Musical Intervention, Adam Christoferson, an accomplished songwriter, drummer and guitarist.
Proceeds from the event will support Musical Intervention’s mission to provide musical services thru songwriting, instrument instruction and performance to the underserved population in the Greater New Haven community. At the core of Musical Intervention is the belief there is hope thru music to uplift the hearts and minds of those struggling to face day-to-day challenges in life.
