Explore our beautiful urban farm, help dig and plant in the children’s garden, and ask farm staff your backyard gardening and composting questions. The animal yards are open for visitors to meet our chickens, ducks, turkeys, goats, sheep, and pigs. Trail maps are available for self-guided hikes in West Rock Park, including the family-friendly Old Oak Nature Trail.

Choose from heirloom and hybrid tomatoes, hot and sweet peppers, broccoli, kale, parsley, basil, cucumbers, eggplant, flowers, squash, beans, lettuce, melons, and more. Common Ground High School students on the Compost Crew will be selling CG Grown Compost. 

Family-friendly activities will be happening throughout the day. Watch the sheep get shorn, taste spring veggies in the learning garden, get your face painted, and play with new friends!

Each day around sundown, my grandmother, Mama Kazie and I would come together, maybe, as a closure for that day. Mama Kazie would recite poetry, tell funny stories, scary stories, and talk about her childhood. She only completed up to the eighth grade in school, but she was the most intelligent person I have ever met in my entire life.

All are welcome: families and college students, young hipsters and serious cyclists, senior citizens and high school students. Join our rock band.
