Experience Ananda: Questioning Gender Discussion Group

Before we're even born there are so many expectations put on us because we have been placed into one of two categories, "boy" or "girl". It affects how people treat us, the lens they see us through, and anything that doesn't fit the set guideline of that assigned category is generally viewed as not just abnormal, but threatening to people's comfort zones of how the world works.

This group is to talk about those assumptions and expectations, break them down, and then start to figure out how we view gender and ourselves, our attractions, our expression, and our identities. This is to support those of us who don't fit into those binary categories and let you know that you're not alone, we're all just as confused by this stuff as you are.

UFC 198 (PPV): Fabricio Werdum Vs. Stipe Miocic

Brazil will host its first UFC event of 2016, and it's the best one the UFC has ever put together. Fabricio Werdum will defend his heavyweight belt against Stipe Miocic in front of 40,000+ fans at the Arena da Baixada soccer stadium. The co-main event is a middleweight bout between Vitor Belfort and Jacare Souza, in a fight that is the perfect example of why some non-main events should be 5 rounds. Also on the main card is Anderson Silva against Uriah Hall, Cris Cyborg's long-awaited UFC debut against Leslie Smith (at 140 lbs), and Beastin' 25/8 vs. Shogun Rua.

New Haven Bike Month: Twilight Sandwich Adventure Ride

Adhering to the classic "Gravel Grinder" recipe of crunchy, unpaved paths and sleepy backroads, NHBC's Gravel Sandwich loop is just a touch lighter than the standard fare, at approximately 25 miles. For extra flavor, we'll be launching just a bit before sunset, so be sure have a good light appropriate for trail riding, and a red blinky for those brief stints on tarmac. Starting in downtown Westville, we'll pass through Woodbridge, Bethany, and Hamden before looping back.
